To book and check for availabilityA bikini wax is a lot less of an undertaking and has lower maintenance in general than a Brazilian wax and removes a lot less hair. People prefer this method when wearing modest one-pieces or to create space between the vulva and inner thighs.
There are two types of bikini waxes – a classic and full. When you think of a regular bikini wax, you’re usually thinking of a classic, but the full also takes off more hair than its counterpart (but still not as much as a Brazilian!).

Another benefit of Brazilian waxing is on more of a person-to-person basis, but a lot of people enjoy their Brazilian waxes for the feeling it gives them! They enjoy being pampered, and like the feeling of being hairless down there. However, it’s not for everyone, so do what’s right for you and what makes you feel your best!
Bikini and Brazilian wax timing should include a consultation, the service itself, and after-wax care education to reduce ingrown and acne after waxing.
A bikini wax should take anywhere from 20 minutes to complete. However, estheticians will usually book out around 30 minutes to make time for consultations and post-wax care.
A Brazilian wax will take anywhere from 20-30 minutes, but the appointment itself will usually be around 35 minutes. This will allow time for the consultation, and for your esthetician to run you through the post-wax care process.
Depending on how regularly you wax, this appointment could be a bit longer if you have more hair.
Pre and post-wax care education will be shorter for repeat intimate waxing clients but a little longer for those who are new to it. Additionally, appointments may take a little longer if the hair is too long, and needs to be trimmed prior to waxing.
Usually, a Brazilian or bikini wax will last around 3-4 weeks, but it really depends on your hair type, skin type, and how long your hair generally grows. No matter what, leave enough time in between waxes for your hair to grow out at least ¼ inch in length.
Additionally, practicing excellent pre and post-wax care will allow you to keep your skin smoother and hair-free for longer periods. Your hair also may thin over time from regular waxing, which will also allow you to leave longer in between waxes.
The section you’ve been waiting for is here! So how much is a Brazilian wax? Brazilian waxes range in price from around $50-$70. Bikini waxes also hold around the same price.
If you’re wondering “How much does a Brazilian wax cost?”, the real answer will come directly from your esthetician, as different salons charge different prices.
If your clients ask you how to Brazilian wax at home, try to steer them away from the idea by emphasizing the detail, care, and precision that needs to go into a bikini or Brazilian wax in order to keep the skin around their pubic areas and anus safe.
Even if they have access to the best Brazilian wax kit on the market, they will not be able to carry out the service with the detail a professional would – think of the angles!
If they press the issue, maybe show them a Brazilian wax before and after or a Brazilian wax video to show them how careful they need to be in order to keep themselves safe.
Can you get a Brazilian wax on your period?
It’s not recommended! Don’t get these services done right before, during, or after a period. The body’s pain threshold goes way down before and after a period. Additionally, being on your period might make you more uncomfortable aside from the pain aspect. For these reasons, it’s best to schedule during a time you know you’ll be free and clear.
Can you have sex after a Brazilian wax?
It’s recommended to wait at least 24 hours to have sex following a Brazilian wax. Any unnecessary friction on or around your freshly waxed pubic area can result in irritation or inflammation – and nobody wants that!
Does Brazilian wax hurt?
With any waxing service, there is some slight pain or discomfort involved in the process. You are removing hair by the root, after all! Brazilian waxing pain can be a little bit higher than that of a regular waxing service, just because of how sensitive the skin around the pubic area and anus is.
Should I trim before a Brazilian wax?
If your hair is very grown out, trim it a bit before your appointment. However, no matter what you do, make sure not to cut your hair shorter than ¼ inch in length.
Hair development is slowed because the roots are pulled out of the hair shafts. However, even while your hair may regrow slower, it may not necessarily be finer. Simply put, you won’t have as much of it as before.
Depending on where you’re getting a wax done, the price might vary. Receiving an intimate wax would inevitably cause some discomfort, although some regions are less sensitive than others. When your hair re-emerges from its follicles, there is an added benefit to getting it done every three to six weeks.
Moisturising is the most straightforward and most effective approach to reducing redness on the skin. By removing the epidermis’ top layer, waxing exposes new, softer epidermis layers and eliminates the skin’s natural oils and moisture.
While the rate at which your hair grows will influence how often you should be waxed, we generally recommend having it waxed every four weeks. As a general rule, this is the ideal period to allow for the proper length of hair and less sensitive skin.
The perfect waxing length is between 1/4 and 1/2 inches long (0.5 cm to 1.5 cm). Hair that isn’t long enough will be pointed out to you by our therapist. You won’t have any issues if you opt to proceed with the therapy. However, we may not be able to remove all of the hair since the hairs are too short to adhere to the wax. In the same way, if the hair is too long, the therapist can cut it for you, as a waxing procedure is more uncomfortable with long hair.
