Milton, Florida is a city in Santa Rosa County, Florida, United States. The town is the county seat of Santa Rosa County, which is part of the Pensacola-Ferry Pass-Brent Metropolitan Statistical Area. Milton is located in the county’s geographic center, with Navarre and Pace to the west and south. As of April 1, 2020, the population of Milton was 10,197. The small, pedestrian-friendly downtown area makes for an enjoyable stroll, but no public transportation is available. It is advisable to rent a car when traveling around Milton, as walking on Highway 90 is very dangerous. If you decide to rent a car, you can find an Enterprise Rent-A-Car on Highway 90, about five miles west of the city limits. Alternatively, you can find a local car rental agency.
